FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University women’s tennis team dropped to Yale 4-0 on Sunday morning in New Haven.
The Stags traveled to the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center to face the Bulldogs in a road match. Yale quickly grabbed wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to earn a point. Jessica Pil with partner Diana Prinos fell 6-0 at No.2 while Courtney Connors and Meghan Zimmer fell 6-0 in the third position.
In singles action, Yale found wins at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 to secure the win. Prinos dropped in straight sets 6-4, 6-0, while Shelby Vertula and Karen McKeough each found themselves on the wrong end of 6-0, 6-1.
Fairfield returns to the courts this Thursday when they host Northern Kentucky at 11:00 a.m.
