2016-17: All-MAAC Second Team No. 5 Singles… As a freshman, posted the second most wins on the team with a 13-12 overall singles record… Was 5-2 against MAAC opponents en route to an All-MAAC Second Team selection… Had an 11-16 record in doubles play mostly playing at No. 3 with Diana Prinos… The duo finished the season going 3-8 with a 3-2 conference record.

Before Fairfield: While at Lauralton Hall, was a member of the National Honor Society and National Latin Honor Society. On the court, Vertula was a two-time All-State First Team selection, named three times to the New Haven Register All-Area Team, named three times to the Hearst Newspaper All-Star Team, a two-time Southern Connecticut Conference First Team Selection, and a two-time SWC Conference First Teamer. During her junior season the team went a perfect 24-0 capturing conference and state championships. As the senior captain, Vertula guided the team to their second consecutive state championship in 2016.
