Floyd Conlin Joins Swimming & Diving Staff

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Floyd Conlin has joined the Fairfield University swimming and diving programs as a graduate assistant coach, beginning with the 2026-27 season. The announcement was made by Stags' Head Swimming and Diving Coach Jake Lichter on Monday.

"Floyd stood out immediately during the search process," Coach Lichter said. "His success as a student-athlete at Loyola will be an asset to our team on the pool deck. On top of that, his leadership, organization, and community building skills will enhance our program off the deck and will be instrumental as we strive for continued excellence in the Metro Conference and prepare for our transition into the CAA."

Conlin brings a wealth of experience to the Fairfield campus, swimming as a student-athlete at Loyola University Maryland for four campaigns. He competed at all levels including the Patriot League Championship and the ECAC Open Championship in each of his four years. Last season, Conlin represented the Greyhounds in the IM events and the 200 breaststroke during the Patriot League Championships, and followed by serving as a member of the free relay teams as well as a competitor in the 50 free, the 100 free, and the 100 breaststroke.

In 2025, Conlin was a two-time finalist at the ECAC Open Championships, taking fourth in the 400 IM (4:00.72) and sixth in the 200 IM (1:50.32). He also put forth strong finishes during the regular season with a first-place finish in the 200 free against Mount St. Mary's as well as a second-place swim in the 400 IM at the H2ounds Invitational.

Conlin earned the respect of his teammates while at Loyola with his election as team captain for the 2025-26 season. He was also selected the most dedicated athlete by his teammates for his performance during the 2023-24 campaign.

He was active in the local community as a student-athlete, volunteering at the Baltimore Special Olympics. He also taught swim lessons to Baltimore City children and raised $1,000 with his participation in the Swim Across America.

Conlin was graduated from Loyola University Maryland in May, 2026 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. He earned multiple berths to the Patriot League Winter Academic Honor Roll and was a Dean's List student.
