FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Head Swimming and Diving Coach Jake Lichter announced the 2026-27 schedule, a slate which includes both regional and national competitions. The Stags will host a pair of dual meets as well as their annual invitational meet at the RecPlex Pool.

"Our schedule provides a strong mix of in league competition and high-caliber non-conference programs from across the northeast that will challenge our team throughout the season," Coach Lichter said. "Every meet is an opportunity to grow, evaluate, and build towards our ultimate goal of competing for conference championships. We intentionally put together a schedule that prepares us for the Metro Championships and positions us to perform at our highest level when championship season arrives."

The season opens with the Fairfield Invitational, a two-day event that includes diving on Friday, October 2 and swimming on Saturday, October 3. The Stags will host Manhattan University's men's and women's programs, Sacred Heart University's women's team, as well as the men's and women's squads from Southern Connecticut State University and the University of Bridgeport.

Fairfield will take to the road for the first time when it heads to Bryant University for a dual meet on October 10. Providence College is next on the docket as the Friars will come to RecPlex Pool on October 17.

The teams will host an alumni meet as part of the University's Family and Alumni Weekend, welcoming everyone back on October 24. The Stags return to competition with a meet at Marist University, the first of two competitions against Metro Conference opponents.

Coach Lichter will bring his teams to the Terrier Invitational to close out the first semester, a three-day event from November 20-22 hosted by Boston University.

The second semester opens with a return trip to BU for a tri-meet with Colgate University and the host school on January 9. After a week off, the Stags will return to the road for a short trip to Metro Conference foe Iona University on January 23.

Fairfield will close out the home portion of its 2026-27 campaign by hosting UMass on January 30. The men's and women's swimming programs will honor their seniors prior to the swimming events on that day.

The Stags will begin their defense of the 2026 conference titles when they travel to Geneva, Ohio for the 2026 Metro Conference Championships, a four-day event which runs from February 17-20. After competing at the Metro Championships in February, Fairfield looks to send student-athletes to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA) National Invitational from March 11-13.

The Fairfield University men's and women's swimming and diving teams are coming off a historic season which saw both programs capture their respective Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship in 2026. Coach Licther earned the MAAC Coach of the Year award in his second season at the helm. Natasha De Pree collected the MAAC Swimming Rookie of the Meet accolade while Colton Driggers captured the MAAC Diving Rookie of the Meet honor during the 2026 Championships.
