LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Fairfield swimming and diving programs continued their stay at the ECAC Championship with the women holding down fifth place (193 team points) and the men standing sixth the team standings (201 team points).
Andrew Cataldo represented the top finisher during the second day of competition, securing third place in 1-meter diving with 253.60 points. Cameron Pope also scored team points with his eighth-place finish by collecting 186.25 points in the six-dive rotation. Lillian Tonole garnered sixth overall in the 3-meter diving event with 204.85 points while Jade Leblic finished up in eighth place based on her 172.90 points.
The 200 medley relay started Saturday's competition, and the women scored a second-place finish by completing the event in 1:42.71. The team consisted of Lauren Patalano, Tone Sandsjo, Lara Kisakol, and Rylie Bauman. The men's team posted a time of 1:30.27 for fourth place behind the efforts of
Max McMillan, Balazs Amen,
Cormac Rouse, and
Andrew Nathe.
The women's team saw several student-athletes advance to the A final based on their successful preliminary times. Kisakol returned to the pool to take eighth place in the A final of the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 58.11.
Isla Bartholomew also competed in an A final, taking sixth in the 200 freestyle by posting a time of 1:52.35.
Balazs Ament captured the first spot in the B final of the 200 freestyle by touching the wall in 1:39.07.
Olivia Glaser was the team's top finisher in the 100 breaststroke, finishing 10
th overall and second in the B final based on her time of 1:06.46.
Bobby Regan represented the men in the same event, posting 11
th overall and third in the B final with his time of 55.98.
Kaite Torrey also made the top 10 in the 100 backstroke, taking second in the B final by completing the distance in 56.99.
Will Landon garnered the same result in the 100 backstroke, timing out in 50.39.
The Stags will close out their stay at the ECAC Championship on Sunday with preliminaries starting in the morning.
