EDISON, N.J. -- Fairfield University Men's Golf sophomores
Tadgh Burke and
Rasmus Ditzinger have been named to the All-MAAC First Team, which was announced this morning by the conference office. The duo lands on the First Team after receiving Second Team honors in 2025.
Burke, the MAAC Rookie of the Year and McLeod Trophy winner last spring, has had a strong follow-up campaign in 2026. He finished fourth of 80 golfers at the SHU Men's Fall Classic and ninth in a field of 75 at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate, shooting even par at both events. Burke has helped to lead the Stags to a top-five finish in seven of nine events this season, including a victory at the Roar-EE Invitational last week on Long Island and second-place team showings at the SHU Fall Classic, the Ryan T. Lee Memorial, the Nassau Intercollegiate, and the Battle at Rum Pointe.
Diztinger was the lone unanimous pick for the All-MAAC First Team. He has finished in the individual top-three in seven of nine tournaments this season, including all four of Fairfield's spring tournaments to date. Ditzinger earned individual medalist honors at the SHU Fall Classic, the Battle at Rum Pointe, and the Roar-EE Invitational. He has finished the weekend shooting par or lower in six of nine events.
Additionally on Monday, Burke and Ditzinger were two of five Stags tabbed for MAAC All-Academic Team. They were joined on the ledger by teammates
Ben Madden,
Anthony Naples, and
Joey Vandergeest. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
Fairfield Men's Golf tees off the 2026 MAAC Championship on Tuesday, April 28 for the first of three rounds at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The Stags are the defending team champion at the event, and Burke is the reigning individual MAAC champ.
