Reigning Champion Stags Picked as Unanimous Favorite in MAAC Preseason Poll

Fairfield garnered all 11 first-place votes

EDISON, N.J. – Fairfield University Men's Golf – the reigning champion of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference – has been selected as the unanimous favorite in the 2026 MAAC Preseason Poll. The Stags topped the ledger with all 11 first-place votes.

Fairfield returns four of the six golfers who represented the Stags at the 2025 MAAC Championship, including individual MAAC Champion and Rookie of the Year Tadgh Burke. Head Coach Doug Holub was named the MAAC Coach of the Year after Fairfield's championship win.

Peter Crowe returns to the fold as an All-MAAC First Team performer last season, while Burke and Rasmus Ditzinger were both All-MAAC Second Team honorees.

This fall, the Stags competed in five tournaments and posted three second-place finishes. Ditzinger was named the MAAC Golfer of the Month in September, finishing in the top three in all three tournaments during the month.

Fairfield Men's Golf will open the spring slate on Feb. 21-22 at the Savannah Intercollegiate in Savannah, Ga.
