Women’s Tennis Slotted Second in MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

Fairfield earned two first-place votes

EDISON, N.J. – Fairfield University Women's Tennis was selected second in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Stags earned two first-place votes and 72 total points on the ledger.
 
Reigning MAAC Champion Quinnipiac collected seven first-place votes to top the poll with 79 points. Fairfield's 72 points merited a comfortable second-place spot ahead of 51 points for Sacred Heart and 50 for Niagara.
 
Rounding out the poll were Marist, Siena, Rider, Mount St. Mary's, and Merrimack.
 
The Stags were 8-14 overall and 6-2 in the MAAC last season. Fairfield reached the MAAC Championship Match for the fourth consecutive season, falling in a 4-3 thriller to top-seeded Quinnipiac.
 
Fairfield Women's Tennis opens the spring slate on Jan. 28 at UConn. The MAAC slate is a sprint of eight matches in 27 days beginning on March 24 on the Walsh Athletic Center courts against Rider.
 
The top four teams will qualify for the 2026 MAAC Championship on April 25-26 at Mercer Park in West Windsor, N.J.
