NEW BRITAIN, Conn.-The Fairfield University women's cross country team took part in the Ted Owen Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State University on Saturday in New Britain's Stanley Quarter Park. The Stags did not finish with a team score in the event, as only four runners took part in the race that was won UConn.
Junior Michaela Kenny led the Fairfield women on Saturday covering the 5K course in New Britain in a time of 20:27.90
Sophomore Callie DeDecko was the next member of head Jake Jayworth's team to cross the finish line in a time of 20:59.20.
Senior Haley Rieckelman (21:40.60) and junior Anna Heras (22:18.90) rounded out the Fairfield racers on Saturday, who all finished within 18 places of each other.
New Hampshire's Ruth White won Saturday's women's event in a time of 17:06.60.
Up next for the Stags' women's cross country squad will be a trip to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Friday, October 3 for the Paul Short Run hosted by Lafayette University.
