FAIRFIELD, Conn. –
Sean Albritton and
Evan Chomow earned weekly men's soccer honors from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) for their performances in a 3-0 win over Monmouth University last week. Albritton captured the MAAC Rookie of the Week award while Chomow garnered the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Albritton scored the team's first goal in the match against Monmouth which gave the forward his second game-winning goal in as many outings for the Stags. The rookie tallied the goal in the 18
th minute, setting up the Stags for the victory. He also posted the deciding goal in his Fairfield debut in a 2-1 win over Army West Point on August 21. His two game-winning goals are tops in the MAAC this season. For the season, he is tied for the team lead in scoring with classmate
Alex Vaz, who also has two goals for four points.
Chomow picked up his first shutout in a Stags uniform when he made seven saves in the Monmouth decision. He opened the with three saves in the opening half before adding four more stops over the final 45 minutes of the match. The freshman has allowed one goal in his two starts in the Fairfield goal against nine saves. Chomow leads the MAAC in both goals against average with a 0.50 mark as well as save percentage with a .900 average.

Krystian Witkowski, will host Brown University on Monday, September 1 to close out its brief two-game home stand. The match is scheduled for a 7 pm start at Lessing Field.
