FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Three members of the Fairfield University Baseball team were named to ABCA/Rawlings All-Region teams after leading the Stags in their MAAC Championship season.
Matthew Bucciero headlines the group with a spot on the All-Northeast First Team while
Dean Ferrara and
Ben Alekson picked up spots on the All-Region Second Team. All three student-athletes were All-MAAC First Team selections this season and helped the Stags to 39 wins, a MAAC Championship, and NCAA Regional appearance.

Bill Currier said. "I'm proud they received this recognition among the other great players in the region."
Bucciero helped guide the Stags to their first tournament title in nearly a decade by being named the MAAC Championship's Most Outstanding Player. He was also an All-MAAC First Team selection and finished the year with a team-high 15 homers and 67 RBI. He broke the program's all-time RBI record by driving in 168 runs in his career, besting the previous record that stood for nearly 25 years. He was also tops on the team in slugging percentage (.633) and on-base percentage (.462).
Ferrara had one of the best offensive seasons in MAAC history, breaking his own conference and school single season record with 99 hits which placed him in the top-five in the country. He tallied 28 multiple hit games including 15 contests with three hits or more. He also placed near the top of the MAAC with 65 runs scored and a .377 average.
Alekson was the ace of the Fairfield staff all season, tallying an 9-2 record with a 3.34 ERA during his All-MAAC campaign. His nine victories tied for the most in program history. He went a perfect 6-0 in MAAC games while holding conference opponents to a .223 batting average. He also led the MAAC with a 1.12 WHIP while finishing second in ERA. He was one of 52 pitchers nationwide named to the National Pitcher of the Year Watch List.
Fairfield's 2025 season featured the second MAAC Tournament Championship in program history and their first since 2016. The Stags reached the NCAA Regional for the third time and the first time since their At-Large selection in 2021. Fairfield also tied a single-season record with 39 wins to draw even with the historic 2021 squad.
