WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – On a day that saw a lengthy delay due to weather, the Fairfield University rowing team was able to overcome the distractions and put together another solid day at the 2025 NCAA Women's Rowing Championship at Mercer Lake.
"It was a day that was very disruptive with the weather not knowing if we were going to race in the morning, or in the afternoon," Head Coach Dave Patterson said. "It's something that you need to get use to in this sport and I thought we handled it well."
The Stags were scheduled to begin their day in the nine o'clock hour but rain forced the competition into a delay that lasted until 6 pm. When competition resumed, Fairfield's varsity 8 was part of the opening race as part of the C/D semifinal. The Stags rowed against Syracuse, Dartmouth, Pennsylvania, and Northeastern and finished the course with a time of 6:45.75.
