POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Fairfield University women's rowing team went up against Marist University in a dual meet this afternoon. The two schools faced off in five races that included three varsity 8 races and two varsity 4 events.
In the varsity 4, Fairfield finished second by completing the distance in 6:52.25 behind the efforts of Jill Segel,
Sadie Eppinger,
Ava Bistoff,
Ainsley Hoekzema, and coxswain
Emma Sieger. Marist finished the event in 6:28.60.
The Stags were runner up in the second varsity 4 after crossing the line in 7:00.82, just five seconds off the Red Foxes finish. Fairfield was represented by
Miranda Schmidt, Sophie Counts,
Ava Gonnella, Gia Enderle, and coxswain
Grace Tyszka.
The first varsity 8 came up a seven seconds off a first-place finish, clocking in at 6:06.90.

The second varsity 8 race saw Marist post the faster time 6:02.26 ahead of Fairfield's mark of 6:21.53. Fairfield's crew included

The varsity third varsity 8 closed out the competition with Marist (6:41.69) edging out Fairfield (6:48.07) in the final race. The Stags were represented by Luci Greisman,

The Fairfield University women's rowing team will return to the water for the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) on May 17 which takes place on the Cooper River in Pennsauken Township, N.J. The Stags captured the 2025 MAAC title and advanced to the program's first NCAA Championship.
