"This was a great performance from all three boats," Women's Rowing Head Coach David Patterson said. "The eight was comprised of eight freshmen under the steady guidance of a sophomore coxswain. They took on some big crews in their event and gained valuable experience in challenging conditions. The B four had a blast rowing from the back of the field and passing a number of boats. The banner performance came from the A four which became the first boat to crack the Charles top ten. Four seniors and a freshman all worked so hard to make sure the soon-to-be graduates would add to their legacy as we continue to grow this program in competitive nature."
The Fairfield University men's rowing team will compete in the Head of the Charles on Sunday with a spot in the collegiate 8 event. The race will at 3:40 pm.
Following this weekend's competition, both the Fairfield men's and women's rowing teams will head north for the Wormtown Chase on Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday, October 24.
