FAIRFIELD, Conn. – For the first time in program history, the Fairfield University women's rowing team will compete at the NCAA Championship, earning the right to lineup against 21 teams by capturing the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) title.
The Stags will send 23 student-athletes onto the water of Lake Mercer beginning on Friday. On Friday May 30, the varsity 8 begins the competition for Fairfield. The Stags will compete in heat 3, joining Boston University, Dartmouth, Tennessee, Rutgers, and California with the start time scheduled for 10:12 am.
The second varsity 8 will be next up and will stack up against Northeastern, Central Florida, Tennessee, Princeton, and Michigan in heat 3 beginning at 11 am. The varsity 4 will close out the day by going against Boston University, California, Syracuse, Rutgers, and Central Florida in heat 3 of that class, getting underway at 11:48 am.
Based on their placement in the heats, all three crews will move on to the semifinals on Saturday, May 31 before finishing the Championship on Sunday, June 1 with the finals.
