Easton, Pa.–The Fairfield University men's golf squad turned in a final round team total of +1 to finish with a 36-hole total of +9 to grab second place at the Abarta Coca-Cola Invitational hosted by Lafayette College at the Northampton Country Club in Easton, Pennsylvania. Fairfield finished five strokes behind team champion, Sacred Heart University (+4), and the Stags outpaced third place Villanova (+14) also by five strokes.
Peter Crowe and Colin Summers led the Stags in Pennsylvania, as they both finished in the top-10 on the leaderboard.
Crowe finished the 36-holes of play in a tie for sixth place after a final round three under par, 69, gave him a final score of -2 for the tournament. His score of -3 on Monday tied for lowest round of the day.
Summers fired a final round one under par, 71, on Monday after going even par in the opening round to finish the two-day event in eighth place at -1.
Rasmus Ditzinger completed the tournament at +7 with a final round +4, and Chase Millar rounded out the top four Stags on the leaderboard at +8, turning in back-to-back rounds of +4.
Tadgh Burke at + 9 for the two days, and Jonathan Bushka, playing as an individual, at +11 rounded out the Fairfield squad in the Keystone State.
Timothy Peters of Millersville and Kai-Jun Huang of Merrimack tied for medalist honors for the tournament as they both finished at -4 over the two rounds.
The Stags will look to continue of the momentum of their second place and first place team finishes in their last two tournaments when they travel to the Sunshine State of Florida for the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship Tournament that will be played from Thursday April 17 through Saturday April 19 at in Lake Buena Vista at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course.
