PISCATAWAY, N.J.-The Fairfield University women's team golf team opened play in its final tournament of the season before the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship by playing two rounds in the Rutgers University Invitational on a dreary Saturday in New Jersey, as the Stags fired an opening round +33 followed by a second round +37 to sit in ninth place out of 17 teams in the event with a total of +70. Fairfield heads into the final 18 holes on Sunday one shot behind eighth place Stonehill and four shots ahead of tenth place Merrimack. Host Rutgers is in first place in the team standings at +23 after 36 holes.
Sofia Nogalo sits in a tie for tenth place in the 91-golfer field to lead the Stags, as she shot back-to-back rounds +5 to head in Sunday's final round at +10.
Julia Rabadam finished Saturday's play in New Jersey at +14 after an opening round of +5 followed by a second round +8 to wrap up day one of action in 30th place.
Through 36 holes, Grace Windfelder at +22, Katelynn Waclawski at +25 and Juliette Prud'Homme at +26 complete the Fairfield five in action at Rutgers.
Emily James and Grace Lu, both of host Rutgers, sit atop the individual leaderboard after two rounds of at +4.
Action will wrap up on Sunday in the Garden State with the final 18 holes of the three-round Rutgers University Invitational.
