Stags Sit Fourth After Round 1 at SHU Spring Break Invite

Waclawski sits one stroke back after 18 holes in Florida

FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – Fairfield University Women's Golf sits in fourth place after the opening round of the SHU Spring Break Invitational at Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Florida. Katelynn Waclawski is currently tied for fifth place, one stroke off the individual pace with a 78 (+6) on Wednesday.
 
Following Waclawski on the leaderboard was Sofia Nogalo with an 81. Julia Rabadam (84), Juliette Prud'Homme (85), Grace Windfelder (87) and Katie Patterson (88) were close behind their teammates at the midway point of the tournament.
 
On the team ledger, the Stags are five strokes ahead of fifth place Holy Cross. Siena leads the field with a 314, followed by Sacred Heart and Ashland. Four golfers share the individual lead, each carding a 77 on Wednesday – Ashland's LeeAnn Harker, Sacred Heart's Jessie Burch and the Siena duo of Emely Kintzel and Julia Kret.
 
The final round from Fleming Island, Fla. tees off on Thursday morning.
