GRASONVILLE, Md.-The Fairfield University women's team golf team continued a busy week of action on Saturday opening action at the Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay in Maryland being played at the Prospect Bay Country Club, and after two rounds on day one of the tournament, the Stags stand in fourth place out of nine teams. Fairfield heads into Sunday's final round of play at +66 as a team after shooting an opening round 323 (+35) followed by a second round total of 319 (+31). LIU leads the team standings after 36 holes with a +47 total of 623.
Katelynn Waclawski is the top Stag through the tournament's first 36 holes, as she fired a total of 159 (+15) with an opening round 76 followed by a second total of 83. Waclawski sits in a ninth place tie after day one action in the 50-golfer field.
Julia Rabadam and Grace Windfelder are one stroke behind Waclawski at +16, as they both shot scores of 160 over two rounds on Saturday. That score of 160 is good for an eleventh place tie for the duo. Both had identical scores of 82 in the first round and 78 in round two.
Juliette Prud'Homme finished day one of play with a 163 (+19), shooting a first round 84 followed by a second round 80.
Sofia Nogalo with a 167 and Katie Patterson with a 179 complete the Fairfield lineup in action in Maryland.
Three players are tied for the lead atop the individual standings with scores of 154 (+10) after 36 holes of play.
The final round of Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay will be held on Sunday.
