EDISON, N.J. – Fairfield University Baseball right-handed starter Kyle Lesler was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Pitcher of the Week following his six-shutout innings of one-hit ball in the rubber game against Siena. Lesler becomes the third different Fairfield starter to be named the conference's Pitcher of the Week this season.
 
Lesler helped the Stags win their 21st-straight conference series by shutting down Siena in the rubber game of the series. The graduate student allowed just one hit while walking two in his six frames. He also fanned six including ending three innings with a punchout.
 
For the season, Lesler has posted a 2-0 record and a 2.70 ERA while his .190 opponent's batting average is the lowest among the starting staff.
 
Lesler has helped the Fairfield pitching staff to become one of the best in the conference, leading the MAAC in: ERA (4.58), WHIP (1.38), Walks per nine innings (3.95), and strikeout-to-walk ratio (1.94).
 
The Stags have also captured four Pitcher of the Week awards during the first six weeks of voting.
 
Lesler and the Stags are back in conference action when they travel to Canisius for a three-game set this weekend.
