Stags Compete with Regional, MAAC Foes at Red Bandanna Invitational

CANTON, Mass. – Fairfield University Women's Golf returned to the course this week for 54 holes at the Red Bandanna Invitational hosted by Boston College. Matched up with several regional and conference opponents, the Stags finished 13th of 15 squads at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Mass.

As a unit, Fairfield topped Holy Cross and Bryant on the leaderboard. Host Boston College ran away with the team crown by 46 strokes over second-place Quinnipiac. The Eagles' lineup boasted five of the top six individual finishers, including Cynthia Zhang's pace-setting 219 (+3) over three rounds.

Katelynn Waclawski led the Stags in 39th place in the 84-golfer field. Waclawski's 54-hole score of 240 included an opening round 76 – which was the best by a Stag in the tournament. Sofia Nogalo, Julia Rabadam, Juliette Prud'Homme and Sophia DeSantis rounded out the five Fairfield golfers to hit the links this week.

Fairfield Women's Golf returns to action in two weeks, heading to Normanside Country Club in Delmar, N.Y. for the UAlbany Great Dane Invitational on Oct. 5-6.
