BERMUDA RUN, N.C. – Maria Beltran moved into the individual top 20 with a one-under 71 in the second round of the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional on Tuesday afternoon. Beltran is at -1 for the tournament with the final round at Bermuda Run Country Club set for Wednesday.
Beltran had three birdies in Tuesday's round, bettering her opening-round 72 by one stroke. She moved up four spots from 22nd to 18th on the leaderboard. Beltran will enter the final round three shots out of the top 10 and nine shots back of the individual pace set by Tennessee's Bailey Davis (-10).
On the team leaderboard, host and ACC Champion Wake Forest (-18) holds a six-stroke lead over Texas and Ole Miss (-12). To qualify for the NCAA Championship, Beltran would need to be the regional's lowest scoring individual not one of the five advancing teams.
Beltran will tee off the final day of NCAA Regional competition on Wednesday morning at 9:50 a.m.
