LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla.-The Fairfield University women's golf team heads into Sunday's final round of the 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship taking place this weekend at Disney's Palm Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista Florida in second place as a team, with a 36-hole total of 599, eight strokes behind first place, the University of Albany. Quinnipiac sits in third place in the team standings one shot behind the Stags and 10 strokes off the lead.
Graduate student Maria Beltran is tied for second place in the individual standings have carded a one over par total of 145 for 36 holes after shooting a two over par 72 today. Albany's Luica Esteban leads the event with a two-day total of 143 (-1).
Classmate Julia Towne is tied for fourth place after two rounds of the MAAC Championships with total of 147 (+3).
Junior Julia Rabadam is tied for thirteenth place after 36 holes with a score of 153, and senior Sydney Nethercott has total a 155 to head into Sunday tied for seventeenth.
Sophomore Katelynn Waclawski rounds out Fairfield's group at the MAAC championship with a two-day score of 156.
Final round play in the 2024 MAAC Women's Golf Championship on Disney's Palm Course will begin on Sunday morning with the team and individual champions earning an automatic bid the this season's NCAA Championship Tournament.
