ANNAPOLIS, Md.-The Fairfield University women's golf team sits in fifth place out of 11 teams following Saturday's opening round of the 2024 Navy Spring Invitational being played at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Maryland. As a team, the Stags shot a 324 (+34) on Saturday and are behind the team leader of the University of Pennsylvania who finished the day with a team score of 310.
Sophomore Katelynn Waclawski finished in a tie for ninth place after the opening round in Annapolis shooting a team-leading 79 (+7).
Graduate student Julia Towne shot an 80 on Saturday to sit in a tie for twelfth place, and junior Julia Rabadam rounded out the Stags' top-three on Saturday with an 82.
Senior Sydney Nethercott fired an 83; while graduate student Maria Beltran with an 84 and sophomore Juliette Prud'Homme with an 85 rounded out the Fairfield players in the 69-person field after round one.
The Fairfield women's golf team will wrap up action on Sunday at the 2024 Navy Spring Invitational before heading to Lake Buena Vista, Florida next weekend for the 2024 MAAC Championship Tournament.
