BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.-The Fairfield University men's tennis team continued its Spring Break trip to North Carolina on Monday, and for the second straight afternoon, the Stags were defeated quality opponent by a 7-0 score, falling to the host Gardner-Webb University Bulldogs at the Webb Tennis Center.  Fairfield is now 3-7 on the year; while Gardner-Webb ups its season mark to an impressive 11-2.

The Stags battled in doubles play against the Bulldogs, as the team of Andrew Immink and Luca Benaibbouche playing at number three won their match 6-3, but the hosts grabbed the double point with tight triumphs at number one where the Fairfield duo of Thomas Smart and Sam Hodges fell 5-7, and a win bu G-WU at number two where Nick Condos and Will O'Brien were downed in a tiebreaker, 6-7 (8).

For the second consecutive day seeing action in the sixth singles flight, graduate student Griffin Schlesinger played a three-set match, as he lost in a super tiebreaker, 6-10, after splitting two sets, 6-3, 6-7.

The Fairfield men's tennis team will play its third match in as many days on Tuesday afternoon to close out dual match play on Spring Break in the Tar Heel State at UNC Greensboro.  First serve against the Spartans is set for 3:00 p.m.
