EDISON, N.J. – After opening the spring with a singles win at UConn last Wednesday, Francesca Karman of Fairfield University Women's Tennis has been named the MAAC Player of the Week.
 
Karman knocked off the Huskies' Victoria Matos – 6-3, 6-2 – at the #4 spot to earn a Big East singles triumph. She was also in action on the doubles court, pairing with Lily Malinowski in a 6-4 setback in the #2 flight.
 
Karman is a two-time All-MAAC First Team doubles performer in her career. She owns 21 singles wins and 40 doubles victories.
 
Fairfield Women's Tennis is back in action this Saturday, Feb. 10 to host Stony Brook indoors at the Tennis Club of Trumbull at 6 p.m.
