FAIRFIELD, Conn. --
Erin McGinley earned the Northeast Conference (NEC) Co-Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Fairfield University field hockey team post a pair of conference victories last weekend.
The senior scored three goals and one assist in the team's 9-1 win over Mercyhurst University on Sunday. She started her day by putting the Stags in the lead with the game's first goal just nine minutes into the contest. The senior padded the Fairfield advantage with the team's third goal of the afternoon, converting a penalty corner with one minute remaining in the first quarter. She returned the favor when she setup the next Fairfield goal, sending a pass to freshman
Camille Perlov's first career goal in the third quarter. McGinley capped the day when tallied her third goal of the afternoon with 11 minutes left in the contest.
For the season, McGinley has accumulated eight points over her 10 appearances which places her in a four-way tie for second among the team's scoring leaders and just one point off the team lead. She is one of the team's most accurate shooters, scoring her three goals off just five shots. She also has one of the team's five game-winning goal, getting credit for the deciding score against Mercyhurst.

Jackie Kane, will play a pair of games this weekend beginning with a road trip against NEC foe LIU on Friday afternoon. The Stags return home for a Sunday afternoon contest, hosting a conference game against Merrimack College beginning at 1 pm.
