FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will travel to Emmitsburg, Md., to face the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers on Saturday at 12pm. The Stags will enter the match in a first-place tie with Canisius in the conference standings with 19 points and a 6-0-1 record.
Fairfield also enters the contest with an 11-1-1 overall record and the fourth-best winning percentage in the nation. As the theme has been all season, the Stags top-ranked offense has carried them as Fairfield ranks in the top-10 in the country in: goals (36), shots per game (21.5), shots on goal per game (9.5), and corner kicks (7.9).
The Stags gutted out a 1-0 victory over Merrimack their last time out, setting a new program record with their 11th-straight home win.
Emilie Cook headed in the lone goal of the game in the closing minutes of the first half, her second goal of the season and both of them have been game-winners.
Reagan Klarmann was credited with the assist, setting a new career-high with her fifth helper of the season. Against conference opponents, she leads the league with five assists and 13 total points, scoring all four of her goals.
The Mount will bring in a 2-3-1 conference record into the match after a 2-1 loss to Saint Peter's. Sydoney Clarke is the team leader with seven goals on just 28 shots. Adelaide Paredes has played every minute in net and holds a 1.33 goals against average with a .792 save percentage.
The Stags will stay on the road when they visit crosstown rivals Sacred Heart on Wednesday night at 7pm.
