About Fairfield
  • Fairfield looks to generate some of that magic it experienced during its three-match winning streak that saw the team score 10 goals and yield just one goal. Fairfield remains the MAAC's top scoring team with 14 goals in eight games, averaging 1.75 goals per game. The Stags are one of three conference teams with a positive scoring margin, netting 14 goals and surrendering 13.
  • William Pierce, the current MAAC Rookie of the Week, has been a key part of the team's offensive success. He tallied two goals in the Harvard match, doubling his scoring total to four goals on the season. He is one of four MAAC student-athletes with a conference high four goals on the season. All four of his goals have come against Ivy League opponents, also netting a pair of goals in the Brown match.
  • The Stags will settle into their home pitch for the next couple of weeks, playing three of their next four dates at Lessing Field. After Saturday's match with Niagara, Fairfield will travel to Canisius University October 7 before welcoming Manhattan College on October 11 and Marist College on October 14. Fairfield plays five of its final eight matches at home.

About Niagara
  • The Purple Eagles earned a draw in their last outing, a 1-1 result with Marist College last Saturday. The decision was the second 1-1 draw this season for Niagara, also playing even with Robert Morris earlier in the month. The team has scored in five of its eight matches this season including both MAAC matches played so far (0-1-1 record).
  • The program has spent a great deal of time on the road with the Fairfield match representing the seventh game away from campus out of nine played. The Purple Eagles played at home on September 9th against Duquesne and on September 16th versus Iona.
  • Felix Koger paces the offense with two goals for four points while Asher Barnes, Dominic Cintra, and Giovanni Covelli each have a goal to their credit this year. Jamie Barry has played all 600-plus minutes in the Niagara goal to date, posting a 2.36 goals against average with a .667 save percentage (32 saves) through nine appearances.

Up Next
  • The Stags will make the trip to upstate New York next Saturday for a match with Canisius University, a program which places second in scoring offense with 1.70 goals per game (17 goals in 10 matches). The game is scheduled for 1 pm start.
