FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Head Coach
Jay Young has added another member to the Fairfield University Men's Basketball Class of 2027 with the signing of incoming freshman
Marouf Moumine. The 6-6 wing from Yaoundé, Cameroon competed at the highly-touted NBA Academy in Senegal before attending high school in the United States.
Â
"We're excited to add
Marouf Moumine to our freshman class," Young said. "At 6-6, Marouf gives us another versatile wing who can play and defend multiple positions. He has the ability to stretch the defense with his shooting and will be an immediate contributor on the glass. With his strong work ethic and infectious personality, Marouf represents all the qualities we look for in our student-athletes."
Â
After a standout youth career at NBA Academy and in the Jr. NBA Global Championship, Moumine played scholastically at Cardinal Newman in West Palm Beach, Fla. and most recently spent a post-graduate year at First Love Christian Academy in Washington, Pa.
Â
Moumine will join the Stags for summer workouts in August as they prepare for a tour of Costa Rica from Aug. 11-18.
