EDISON, N.J. – Fairfield University Women's Tennis alumna Aina March has been selected by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as a nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year. March was a five-year letterwinner for the Stags and a three-time All-MAAC First Team honoree. As a conference honoree, she advances toward national NCAA Woman of the Year consideration alongside Iona women's basketball standout Kate Mager.
 
A 2022 summa cum laude graduate of Fairfield as an Electrical Engineering major with a Mathematics minor, March was recognized at commencement for Outstanding Achievement in Electrical Engineering and was inducted into both Tau Beat Phi (Engineering Honor Society) and Pi Mu Epsilon (National Mathematics Honor Society). She returned for a graduate year in 2022-23, where she was lauded for Outstanding Achievement in the Management of Technology M.S. program.
 
March was a Fairfield University Dean's List student in every semester of her collegiate career and was named to the 2022-23 CSC Academic All-District team. She was recognized in May of 2023 as the Fairfield University Alumni Association Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
 
On the court, March earned All-MAAC First Team honors at #1 doubles in 2019 (with Amanda Nowak) and All-MAAC First Team laurels at #5 singles in both 2022 and 2023. She was a starter in both singles and doubles on Fairfield's 2019 MAAC Championship team.
 
March was initially nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year by Fairfield Athletics alongside Nya Jones, a 2023 graduate from the Stags' volleyball program. The MAAC's two conference-level nominees – March and Mager – will advance to the national ballot. Ten women apiece from Division I, II and III will comprise the final ballot that will be used to select the 2023 NCAA Woman of the Year.
