ELKHART, Ind. -- The Fairfield University swimming and diving teams completed their three-day stay at the National Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Invitational Championships today. The Stags had several student-athletes as well as relay teams competing on Saturday afternoon.
The men's team opened up the competition for the Stags with three participants taking their lanes in the 200 IM.
Evan Fair was Fairfield's top finisher in the event, finishing 24th overall with a time of 50.51. Hans Lim was next in line by touching the wall with his time of 53.43, followed by
Ed Hunt who completed the distance in 53.75. The men's 200 backstroke was next for the Stags with
Oliver McLaughlin representing his team by posting a time of 1:52.49.
Erini Pappas was entered in the 200 backstroke and completed the event in 2:02.63. Jeffrey Vlass served as the Stags' lone representative in the 200 breaststroke, ending his race in 2:03.87. The Stags had multiple entries in the 200 breaststroke as
Cailey Stockwell posted her time of 2:21.79 with
Alison Sposili coming in next for Fairfield in 2:23.18.
The trio of Fair, Lim, and Hunt came back for the 200 fly with Fair touching the wall first among the three student-athletes, sporting a time of 1:50.76, while Lim (1:53.22) and Hunt (1:55.21) rounded out the Fairfield entries.
The women's 400 free relay also competed this afternoon, combining for a finish in 3:31.23 as
Lily Barker,
Erini Pappas, Caroline Gray, and
Sydney Scalise represented Fairfield.
