NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Maria Beltran carded a 75 (+3) to set the pace for Fairfield University Women's Golf on Sunday at the Yale Invitational. The tournament was truncated to a single-round event after rain washed out the first 36 holes slated for Saturday at the Yale Golf Course.
Â
Beltran converted three birdies on her way to a 75, which slotted her in a tie for 15th place in the 72-golfer field. She was five shots off the individual pace set by medalist Christy Chen of Boston University and Joanne Lee from host Yale, who each turned in a 70 (-2).
Â
Julia Towne added a 78 for the Stags, followed by
Katelynn Waclawski's 79 on Sunday.
Juliette Prud'Homme,
Julia Rabadam and
Grace Kryscio rounded out the six Fairfield golfers to hit the links today.
Â
Yale won its home event with a 293, clipping second place Dartmouth by five strokes. The Stags placed 10th in the 12-team field, outgunning Williams College and DePauw University.
Â
Fairfield returns to action on Oct. 9-10 at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford.
