CANTON, MASS. – Fairfield University women's golf opened the 2022-23 campaign this weekend at the Boston College Intercollegiate, where senior Addy Douglas paced the Stags with a 19th place finish in the 90-player field.
Douglas took home a share of 19th alongside six other golfers at +16 overall on the Par 72 course at Blue Hill Country Club, carding a pair of 76 in the two opening rounds played on Monday, before shooting an 80 in the finale on Tuesday. Overall the Stags as a team finished +89, tied for 11th out of 16 schools, finishing ahead of Siena the only other MAAC team in the contest.
Finishing second amongst the Fairfield Five was freshman Katelynn Waclawski who carded a two under, 70 in her first collegiate round Monday, before going on to finish 37th in the field, followed my graduate transfer Julia Towne who carded a 79 and 78 on Monday, and completed the tournament tied for 50th in her Stags debut.
Rounding out the Fairfield Five were Sydney Nethercott who finished three shots back of Towne and tied for 60th and Grace Kryscio who ended the weekend 77th in the field, while Juliette Prud'Homme, making her collegiate debut as the lone individual for the Stags, finished one shot back of Kryscio and tied for 78th in the field.
Fairfield women's golf is back in action this Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 3-4 when they head to Bloomfield, Conn. for the Hartford Hawks Fall Invitational.
