Stags Kickoff Tournament Schedule at Boston College Intercollegiate

Nethercott sets the pace for Fairfield

CANTON, Mass. – Fairfield University Women's Golf competed in its first tournament of the 2021-22 calendar this week with 54 holes at the Boston College Intercollegiate. Sydney Nethercott paced the Stags on the course at Blue Hill Country Club, finishing in 48th place in the 84-golfer field.

Nethercott started the tournament with a 77 – tied for the low round of the week by a Stag. The 2021 All-MAAC performer was matched by Addy Douglas's final round 77 as she climbed 10 spots on the leaderboard to 52nd.

The individual highlight of the week saw Grace Kryscio sink a hole-in-one on the par-3 seventh hole. Kryscio added that eagle to a trio of birdies on her scoreboard for the event.

On the team leaderboard, Fairfield placed 14th of 15 team, besting MAAC rival Siena by one stroke and landing one shot behind conference foe Hartford. Yale defeated host Boston College by three shots to win the tournament, led by individual medalist Ami Gianchandani.

The Stags are back in Connecticut and back in action this weekend at Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield for the Hartford Hawks Invitational.
