MAAC Championship Begins This Wednesday at Alumni Diamond

Top-seeded Stags host Canisius at 11 AM in the opening round

Following a sweep of Manhattan this past Thursday in the quarterfinal round, Fairfield University Baseball will host the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship this week at Alumni Diamond. Action begins on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the top-seeded Stags hosting Canisius.

This week's championship is open to the public. In anticipation of a capacity crowd inside Alumni Diamond, fans are invited to bring their own chairs to sit beyond the outfield wall and enjoy the action. The entirety of the tournament will also be broadcast live by the Stags Sports Network on ESPN+ with J.J. Duke and Chuck Sadowski on the call.

Fairfield Baseball heads to the Championship with a record of 35-1. The Stags clinched their fourth MAAC Regular Season Championship – the third under the direction of three-time MAAC Coach of the Year Bill Currier – en route to the top seed in the tournament. Canisius is 19-14 entering the championship after winning its best-of-three series with Marist – two games to one – this past week in Buffalo.

The other side of the bracket will feature second-seeded Monmouth and third-seeded Rider. Their Wednesday opener is slated for 3 p.m.
