SHELTON, Conn. – The varsity 8 paced another good showing by the Fairfield University women's rowing team as the group won its event at the Sacred Heart Invitational. The junior varsity 8, varsity 4, and the novice 8 also competed during the all-day event.
In the first race of the day, the Stags secured the victory by finishing the course in 6:44.59, edging host Sacred Heart University by less than two seconds (6:46.28). Iona also participated in the race and ended its day with a time of 7:58.9. Fairfield's entry included

The junior varsity 8 featured two entries from both Fairfield and Sacred Heart as the Stags A boat took the competition with a time of 6:59.34 while the B shell secured third place with its run of 7:30.86. Sacred Heart A finished in between the two Stags entries in 7:00.28 while the B team secured a time of 7:43.13.

The varsity 4 was next up and the Stags secured fourth place by crossing the finish line in 8:26.7 while Iona secured the win (8:07.25). Jess DeMarse,

The novice 8 finished its race in a tie for second with the United States Merchant Marine Academy as both shells crossed the line in 7:53.05. Sacred Heart won the event with its time of 7:18.34. The Stags were represented by
