Women's Rowing Tabbed Seventh In MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University women's rowing team was tabbed seventh in the 2021 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Coaches Poll.  The Stags collected the sixth slot with 44 points in the poll based on the vote of the conference's 10 head coaches.

Marist College secured the preseason favorite moniker by securing 95 points and six of the 10 first-place votes. Jacksonville University placed second in the poll with only one point separating it from the top spot. The Dolphins also received the other four first-place votes from the head coaches. The rest of the top five was rounded out by Stetson University with 77 points, Drake University with 69 points, and Robert Morris University with 51 points.

Canisius College was narrowly edged by a point which resulted the Griffs to finish sixth in the voting. After Fairfield, the remainder of the poll included  Manhattan College (37 points), Sacred Heart University (23 points), and Iona College (10 points).
