FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fresh off the most historic season in school history, the Fairfield University Baseball team will now have the opportunity to build upon their success as the Stags officially announced the 2022 schedule. The Stags will face opponents from eight different conferences with most of those foes posting winning records during the 2021 campaign.
 
"We have a well-rounded and competitive schedule with teams we feel we can compete against with the talent currently in our program," Head Coach Bill Currier said. "The two Atlantic Sun teams are always near the top of their league and North Dakota State was a Regional team in 2021. We feel this early schedule will prepare us for competitive MAAC games up north."
 
The Stags' 2022 season opener will be on Feb. 18 when Fairfield starts their southern trip with a three game set against Elon. The Stags will travel to Georgia the next week for a three-game set against Kennesaw State, a squad that posted 29 wins last season including an early season victory against No. 5 Georgia.
 
Fairfield will then lace up against St. Joseph's out of the Atlnatic 10 conference to open up the month of March (4-6) before starting their Florida trip. Fairfield will play four opponents during their stay in the Sunshine State with a three-game set against Florida Gulf Coast (11-13) before playing single games against Bradley (March 15) and Dartmouth (March 16). The Stags will cap off their Florida stay with a three game series against North Dakota State from March 18-19. The Bison racked up 42 wins in 2021 including a victory over Nevada in the NCAA Regionals.
 
The Stags will then immediately turn their attention to the MAAC slate as they open their conference schedule with three games at Marist (March 25-27). This season, Fairfield will travel to MAAC team: Rider (April 8-10), Manhattan (April 14-16), and Quinnipiac (May 13-15).
 
Fairfield has 20 home games on the schedule with their home opener against Hartford on Tuesday, March 29. The Stags will host MAAC teams: Niagara (April 1-3), Saint Peter's (April 24-26), Monmouth (May 6-8), and Siena (May 19-21). Fairfield will also host regional power St. John's on Tuesday, April 5.
 
Fairfield is coming off the most historic season in program history with a school record 39 wins which included an At-Large bid and two victories in the NCAA Regionals. Fairfield reached as high as No. 23 in the national polls with a 28-0 start to the season.
