FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Baseball program announced their All-Decade team, which was selected by 100 percent fan voting. The 12 members of the team represents 14 All-MAAC honors, two yearly honors, and the program's first-ever MAAC Tournament championship, which was won in 2016. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have finished their career with the Stags and have played two full seasons in the decade.
Starting Lineup
Infield:
Tucker Nathans: Nathans graduated as the program's leader in hits and is now currently second all-time with 263 career hits and 155 RBI. He does lead the program with 401 total bases and 61 doubles. His .352 career batting average is second all-time and the best mark since 1971. He earned two All-MAAC Second Team and NEIBA All-Star honors highlighted with 75 hits in 2010.
Mac Crispino: Crispino earned All-MAAC Second Team recognition after tallying 59 hits and 35 RBI in 2016. He was one of the clutch performers during the 2016 Championship season, leading the team with a .371 batting average with runners in scoring position. He recorded 171 hits and 87 RBI in his career.
Michael Conti: Conti finished second on the team with a .335 average during the team's 2016 MAAC Championship season and led the team with a .377 average in conference play. That performance helped him to an All-MAAC Second Team selection. He also tallied 158 career hits, scored 84 runs, and drove in 78 runs.
Jack Gethings: Gethings became the program's first-ever MAAC Offensive Player of the Year after setting the program's single season record with 88 hits and seven triples. He also broke the program's career hits record with 271, which included a school-best 25-game hitting streak. He also ranks on top the program's all-time record for triples (11) and runs scored (170) while placing second with 346 total bases. He was named to the All-MAAC First Team twice and also earned a pair of All-MAAC Tournament honors.
Outfield
Drew Arciuolo: The top overall vote getter, Arciuolo ranks in the top-10 in four offensive categories with: 276 total bases, eight triples, 88 walks, and 127 runs scored. He also earned All-MAAC First Team honors in 2018 after leading the team with a .347 average and 70 hits. He reached base in 45-straight games in his senior season, which was the fourth longest in the country before it was snapped. He finished his career with 216 hits, one of nine Stags to reach that mark.
Troy Scocca: Scocca earned back-to-back All-MAAC Second Team honors highlighted by a team-high seven homers in 2017. He was named to the NEIBA Second Team in 2017 after posting a .330 average and a team best 110 total bases and 46 RBI.
Jake Salpietro: One of the best power hitters in Stags' history, Salpietro earned two All-MAAC First Team honors, highlighted by 77 hits during his senior season, which was the most in single season history. He earned All-Region First Team honors during that season. He helped lead the Stags to the 2016 MAAC Championship and was named the MAAC Championship MVP after hitting .692 (9-for-13) with seven runs and five RBI in the tournament. He slugged 25 career home runs for the second most in program history and also ranks in the top-five in doubles (42) and RBI (129).
Catcher
Ryan Plourde: The only player in program history to earn three All-MAAC squads, Plourde's career was highlighted by back-to-back First Team honors in 2013 and 2014. He ranks in the top-five in career hits (224), triples (11), walks (121), and runs scored (139). He hit .300 in all four seasons, and finished with a .323 average. He also earned two All-NEIBA honors in his career.
Starting Pitchers
Gavin Wallace: Wallace became the first Stag in history to earn the NEIBA Pitcher of the Year after tying the program single season record with eight wins to go along with a 3.03 ERA. He also set the single season record with four shutouts during his junior season and finished with a nation leading seven complete games. He tied a program record with four MAAC Pitcher of the Week awards.
John Signore: Signore currently ranks in the top-five in all major pitching categories including: wins (17), ERA (3.19), innings pitched (262), and strikeouts (233). He earned All-MAAC First Team honors in 2018 after finishing second in the MAAC with 91 strikeouts. His 3.19 career ERA is the best by any Stag since 1979.
Kyle Dube: Dube ranks third all-time with 18 wins, the most by any Stag since 1995. Six of those victories came in his All-MAAC Second Team season of 2016 where he went 6-1 in MAAC games. He finished 10th with 171 strikeouts.
Relief Pitcher
Eli Oliphant: Oliphant posted a team-best 1.71 ERA in 2019, the ninth best in single season history. He picked up six saves during that season and held a 0.80 ERA in relief outings. He has a career 3.10 ERA in 110.1 innings pitched and a 87 strikeouts.
Bench
Sebastian Salvo: Salvo graduated as the program leader in field percentage and did not make an error in 441-straight chances. He led the team with a .354 average in 2014.
Dan Ryan: One of the best stories of the Stags, Ryan is a gormer walk-on who has tallied 117 hits in 110 starts in his career. He earned an All-MAAC Second Team selection in 2019 after tallying 67 hits and a MAAC leading 21 doubles. He hit .407 in the MAAC Tournament in 2019 and was named to the All-Tournament team.
Kevin Radziewicz: The former Fairfield backstop, Radziewicz finished with 219 hits, the sixth most in program history. He also ranks in the top-10 with 116 RBI and 126 runs scored. He earned back-to-back All-MAAC Second Team selections. He was the toughest player in the MAAC to strikeout in 2017, fanning just one in every 17.6 at-bats, which was the seventh best in the country.
Mike Wallace: Wallace capped his career with an All-MAAC First Team selection in 2015 after registering a 2.64 ERA and five complete games. He ranks third in program history in fewest walks per nine innings and is also tied for fourth with 17 wins. He received All-MAAC Second Team honors in 2014.
Mike Bonaiuto: No one appeared in more games than Bonaiuto, the program's all-time leader in appearances with 76, while finishing third all-time with 10 saves. He led the team with a 2.54 ERA and five saves in the MAAC Championship winning season of 2016.
