FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Cross Country will travel to the site of next month's MAAC Championship this Saturday for the 25th Annual Henry Mercer Invitational. The Stags will hit the 8K course at Holmdel Park in Holmdel, N.J. at 9:30 a.m.

Fairfield opened the 2019 campaign on Sept. 7 at the Nassaney Invitational. The Stags were paced by
Robert Dillon, who finished 16th of 128 runners in his collegiate debut. Dillon finished the 8K course in 26:03.8 to finish 16th overall. Also crossing the line in the top half of the field were
Benjamin Breton (47th),
James Vizzard (58th) and
Thomas VanDerslice (64th).
Pacifico Flores rounded out the quintet of scoring runners for the Stags. Five of Fairfield's top six finishers were freshmen competing in the first race of their respective collegiate careers.

The Stags last ran at Holmdel Park for the 2017 MAAC Championship. Among current Stags, then-sophomore
Ryan Brennan was the top finisher with a time of 28:27.95.

After this weekend, Fairfield will head to the Hellertown section of Bethlehem, Pa. for the Paul Short Run on Saturday, Oct. 5.
