Stags Travel to Brown For Wednesday Afternoon Tilt

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will complete their non-conference slate when they travel to Brown University to take on the Bears on Wednesday at 4pm. The Stags will be looking to extend their three match unbeaten streak while Brown looks to increase their unbeaten streak to seven.

The Stags had to work hard for their last result, coming back from a 3-1 deficit to tie Bryant on Thursday. Liz Dumas recorded her first multi-goal game, including connecting on the game's tying score with eight minutes remaining. Stephanie Tsangaris had a role in all three Fairfield goals, tallying two assists and one score.

Tsangaris would assist on both Dumas' goals including the team's first goal in the 18th minute. Tsangaris would notch her third goal of the season to begin Fairfield's comeback as her score in the 77th minute brought Bryant's lead down to 3-2.

With her four points, Tsangaris moves to a tie for third in the MAAC standings with eight points this season. Gabby Diodati was also credited with an assist, her third of the season which places her in a tie for the top spot in the MAAC.

The Stags out-shot Bryant 22-12 and hold a 45-18 advantage in shots over their last two games.

Brown is off to their best start since 2000 as they hold a 5-0-1 record, which included five-straight shutouts. The Bears have surrendered just one goal all year which came in the 56th minute in their season opener against Hofstra. Since then, the Bears have not allowed a score in over 500 minutes.

Kayla Thompson and Maria Guerrero Martinez have both seen time in net, with Thompson holding a perfect 0.00 goals against average and a 1.000 save percentage which includes 17 stops.

On the offensive side, Ava Seelenfreund leads the team with three goals, as she is one of seven different goal scorers.

The Stags will next turn their attention to the MAAC schedule as they open up their conference campaign at home against Niagara on Saturday at noon.
