WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Amanda Nowak was the unanimous choice for 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Tennis Player and Rookie of the Year, as announced tonight by the MAAC. Nowak headlines a list of six Fairfield University Women's Tennis student-athletes to collect All-MAAC laurels. In addition, Head Coach
Jeff Bricker was recognized by his peers as the MAAC Coach of the Year.

Nowak sweeps the MAAC major awards after posting a 17-6 singles record and a 13-6 doubles mark thus far in 2018-19. She went 6-0 in the MAAC in singles competition and 5-1 in doubles en route to collecting both Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors.

Nowak was also a unanimous All-MAAC First Team selection at #1 singles, highlighting four Stags to earn All-MAAC honors in singles.
Anna Komer was the All-MAAC First Team pick at #4 singles, and
Sophia Prinos was tabbed as All-MAAC First Team in the #5 spot.
Diana Prinos earned a spot on the All-MAAC Second Team as Fairfield's #2 singles player.

In doubles action, Nowak and fellow rookie
Aina March nabbed the All-MAAC First Team spot at #1 doubles. The tandem of Komer and
Jessica Pil also earned a place of the All-MAAC First Team in the #3 doubles slot.

Bricker collects his first career MAAC Coach of the Year Award after leading Fairfield to a 5-1 conference record as the #2 seed in the upcoming MAAC Championship. The Stags' 12 overall wins are the program's most since 2013-14 (12-10) and their second-place regular season finish is also the best since that campaign.

The Stags will begin play at the MAAC Championship in the semifinal round on Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m. against third-seeded Marist at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J. Fairfield defeated the Red Foxes in the regular season, 4-3, on April 11 on campus at the WAC Tennis Courts.

Later in the day, fourth-seeded Fairfield Men's Tennis will challenge top-seeded Monmouth at 2 p.m.
