Last Time Out
Fairfield hosted a nationally-ranked foe for the second time in 2019 as #11/12 Towson came to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium this past Saturday. The contest saw the visiting Tigers come away with a 14-7 decision, as Fairfield was paced by three points apiece from Patrick Drake and Dylan Beckwith.

Beckwith and Jack Brennan each scored two goals, with single tallies coming from Drake, Travis Ford and Brendan Quinn. Drake was also one of the Stags' top facilitator with two assists, joined by his fellow rookie Brian Reda's pair of helpers.

On the other end of the field, Fairfield was led by starting defenseman George Elmquist, who tied his program record with five caused turnovers. Jake Tymon added three caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls.

James Corasaniti made 10 saves in the cage to post double-digit stops for the fifth consecutive game and the seventh time in 10 starts in his rookie season.

Scouting Drexel
The Drexel Dragons are 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the CAA following a 15-13 loss to Delaware this past Saturday. Three of the Dragons' losses have come at the hands of nationally-ranked opponents, while Drexel's signature win of the campaign is a 15-10 triumph over then-#11 Villanova on Vidas Field on March 10.

The Dragons are the CAA's most potent offense thus far in 2019, averaging 12.70 goals per game. A key component of Drexel's scoring proficiency has been its prowess in man-up situations, where the Dragons have converted 25-of-51 chances to rank sixth in the nation with a .451 success rate on the EMO.

Individually, Reid Bowering leads the CAA and ranks fifth nationally with 3.30 goals per game (33 total goals). Matthew Varian and Marshal King are the Dragons' top facilitators with 17 assists apiece.

Jimmeh Koita handles faceoff duties to the tune of a .525 winning percentage. Koita claims the majority of his faceoff wins cleanly, averaging 8.20 ground balls per contest to rank third in the CAA.

The defensive effort is led by Sean Quinn with 21 caused turnovers and 30 ground balls. Matt Klinges adds 10 caused turnovers and 22 ground balls.

Drexel has found consistency in the cage as of late, turning to Ross Blumenthal for the last six outings. Blumenthal owns a 10.58 goals-against average and a .479 save percentage in 357 minutes of action with 63 goals allowed and 58 saves.
