FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Aina March was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week after going 3-0 to lead the Stags this weekend as they picked up two dominating wins over Saint Joseph's and La Salle.
March began the weekend with a Doubles competition victory against Saint Joseph's as she teamed up with
Amanda Nowak to take down Laura Gomez and Paige Conrad 6-1 at #2 Doubles. She then won her match at #3 Singles against Isis Gill-Reed (3-6, 7-6, 7-5). At La Salle, March stepped up to defeat Ali Snyder at #2 Singles (6-2, 6-3).
"Aina had a great weekend, teaming with Amanda for a dominating doubles win against St. Joe's then staving off multiple match points at 3 singles" said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker. "She's got a ton of heart on the court and is very deserving of MAAC player of the week!"
March helped the Stags go 2-0 on the weekend as they improved to 7-1 overall. Fairfield will return to action this Saturday, March 2 as they host Stony Brook at 5 P.M. in New Haven at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
