Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Fairfield men's tennis played a strong match this afternoon but could not pick up the win as they were defeated by Boston University by a score of 2-5.
In Doubles competition,
Tyler Shibles and
Lewis Edwards won at #1 Doubles taking down Owen Lu and Ethan Kolsky by a score of 6-4.
The Stags started off Singles competition with two wins as
Tyler Shibles took down Pete Siozios at #2 Singles (6-3, 2-0 Retired).
Allan Magid then defeated Max Hartenstein in #4 Singles by a score of (6-3, 6-4). Fairfield was not able to pick up another win in Singles ultimately falling to the Terriers.
"It was a tough loss today" said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker. "We finally played better in doubles and got closer to the elusive doubles point. We are definitely moving in the right direction. BU is a very strong program and we were right there, stride for stride with them. We are getting closer to pulling some of these close matches out."
Fairfield will return to action as they travel to Philadelphia to take on Saint Joseph's on Saturday, February 23 at 6 P.M.
