FAIRIFIELD, Conn. – Five student-athletes were among the 60 Fairfield University students recently inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu – the Honor Society of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
Jenny Jacobs (women's soccer),
Alec Melotto (men's swimming and diving),
Timothy Salit (men's cross country),
Emma Unterkoefler (women's cross country) and
Kevin Walsh (men's golf) all earned induction into the prestigious society.
"Congratulations to our student-athletes and all 60 inductees into Alpha Sigma Nu," said Director of Athletics
Paul Schlickmann. "We are proud to have several Stags among those chosen to represent Fairfield in an honor society that recognizes not only their academic achievements but also their commitment to our University's Jesuit ideals."
In addition to the quintet of student-athletes, graduate student
Kelly Bommer was also inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu. Bommer was a four-year team manager for Fairfield Women's Soccer and is currently working in the Athletic Department as the Academic Services and Administrative Operations Graduate Assistant.
To be eligible for induction into Alpha Sigma Nu, a student must be a junior, senior or graduate student ranked in the top 15 percent of his or her class.
