Stags Continue to Shine in the Classroom in Latest NCAA APR Report

Ten Fairfield teams posted perfect 1000 APR scores

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Ten Fairfield University athletics programs scored a perfect 1000 as the NCAA released its annual Academic Progress Rate (APR) report on Tuesday afternoon. The Stags led all Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) schools with nine teams that compete in the conference gaining the 1000 threshold, three more than runner-up Marist College's six teams.
 
Men's basketball, men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's golf, softball women's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, and women's tennis garnered the top percentage in the APR based on the academic years of 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2202-23.
 
The Academic Performance Program has established framework for academic excellence. The program provides measurable goals to ensure schools are fulfilling their commitment of equipping student-athletes with the tools and resources necessary to achieve academic success.

In addition, 14 Fairfield athletic teams scored 1000 for the 2022-23 academic year, namely baseball, men's and women's basketball, field hockey, men's and women's golf, women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, women's rowing, softball, and women's tennis.
