FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Head Coach Laura Field has announced the 2018 schedule for Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse. The 16-game slate features seven contests to be played on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium, including a pair of home doubleheaders.

The first twin bill is the season opener when Holy Cross visits Rafferty Stadium at 11 a.m. The game will be followed by Fairfield Men's Lacrosse beginning its 2018 campaign at 2 p.m. against Vermont.
 
The Stags will hit the road for the first time on Valentine's Day for a midweek visit to UConn, before returning home the following Wednesday, Feb. 21, to host Columbia at 4 p.m.
 
A season-long four-game road trip begins on Saturday, Feb. 24 with a visit to Hofstra. The Stags then make the short jaunt to Sacred Heart (Feb. 28) and head to New Hampshire (March 3) and Lehigh (March 11) to conclude the two-week swing away from Rafferty Stadium.
 
The Stags are back on Conway Field on Wednesday, March 14 to wrap up the non-conference portion of the slate, then host Siena (March 24) and Niagara (March 29) to mark the beginning of the MAAC schedule.
 
After a Wednesday, April 4 visit to Monmouth, the Stags conclude the home schedule when Quinnipiac (April 11) and Marist (April 14) come to Rafferty Stadium. The 3 p.m. meeting with the Red Foxes is the backend of a doubleheader that will also feature Fairfield Men's Lacrosse hosting CAA opponent Drexel at noon.
 
A three-game road spell caps the regular season as Fairfield visits conference opponents Iona (April 18), Canisius (April 21) and Manhattan (April 25).
 
"We are excited to take on some of the best teams in the region during our non-conference season, with the end goal of prepping the team for the rigors of the MAAC schedule," Field said. "The team is entering the final stretch after putting in some solid work this fall, and we are looking forward to welcoming Holy Cross at home in a doubleheader open the 2018 season in fitting fashion."
 
The top six teams in the MAAC regular season standings will qualify for the 2018 MAAC Championship. The #3 and #4 seeds will host First Round action on Saturday, April 28. The two squads to advance to the semifinal round will join the top two seeds for MAAC Championship Weekend on May 4-6 with the entire "final four" hosted by the #1 seed.
 
General admission is free for Fairfield Women's Lacrosse regular season home games. The Rafferty Stadium VIP Suite, located on the press box level of Rafferty Stadium's Alumni Grandstand, is available to rent for $250 per game. Rental includes suite entry for 14 guests as well as three (3) VIP parking passes for the Rafferty Stadium lot.
