FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Tennis moved to 1-0 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and 2-0 in dual play with a win over visiting Rider this afternoon on the WAC Tennis Courts. The Stags won all six singles matches in straight sets en route to a 7-0 victory over the Broncs.

"The team was impressive today; that was one of the more complete wins we've had in a while," Head Coach Jeff Bricker said. "Everyone played solid high percentage tennis. This has been a great start to the dual match season and hopefully we can carry this momentum into our match at Hofstra next weekend."

Fairfield opened the day with a clean sweep of the doubles action. The tandems of Sarah Stuhlmann and Anna Komer, Nicole Aragones and Diana Prinos, and Gabriella Campos and Meghan Zimmer all came away with wins for the Stags.

In singles action, the six victorious Stags were Stuhlmann, Prinos, Emily Lombardi, Aragones, Komer and Jessica Pil.

The Stags, who will resume MAAC play in the spring, continue dual action on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Hofstra.
